Hi everyone! My name is Andrea. I have recently been diagnosed with a gluten intolerance, May 2010 to be exact. For those of you who don’t know what gluten is, it’s a protein found in wheat, rye, barley and oats. I had been experiencing some unpleasant symptoms that seemed to be amplified upon eating anything with wheat in it. I would get sick about 30 min. after eating, had abdominal pains, headaches, joint pain, bloating and puffiness. I knew something wasn’t right. I was constantly seeing the doctor for my different symptoms not realizing they all tied in to the same problem.
I then went to a phenomenal doctor, Dr. Alan Bain, in Chicago who did up some blood work and found a wheat intolerance. He suggested I go off gluten. At first I was a little freaked out but I knew if I wanted to be well that I just had to do it.
After going off gluten for like 1 week, all of my unpleasant symptoms started to disappear. It was AMAZING!! Finding Dr. Bain was the best thing I ever did!
I am now here to inform everyone who is going gluten-free, to the best of my ability, how going gluten-free can change your life…and make it FUN along the way! But…please bear with me, I am still learning as I go….Tweet
